ARC Trauma, LLC

ARC Trauma, LLC was founded in 2019 with the purpose to create medical devices which are specifically geared to the care of the patient at the point of injury.  Through collaboration with engineers, clinicians, and military providers, the ARC team utilizes an expansive wealth of knowledge to create state of the art devices that are easy to use and durable.

we are dedicated to saving lives by developing innovative medical devices designed to address critical injuries in high-risk situations.

Our flagship product, the Arterial Restriction Clamp (ARC), was specifically developed to tackle the issue of life-threatening carotid artery injuries that commonly occur during combat, automobile accidents, and other life-threatening incidents.

Austin Ballentine

Austin Ballentine

Austin Ballentine helped to develop the ARC, co-founded ARC Trauma LLC, and has served on its board since its inception. He graduated from Cedarville University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in biomedical engineering.

He volunteered to help with a clean water project in Bolivia in an engineering capacity and worked with locals to better understand their needs. Austin has most recently worked as a manufacturing engineer and new product development engineer. Austin is experienced in practicing Lean Manufacturing techniques.

Lauren Edmonson

Lauren Edmonson kickstarted the initial development of the ARC, co-founded ARC Trauma LLC, and has served on the board since its inception. She graduated in 2019 with a bachelor’s in science of Allied Health and will graduate from medical school in 2024.

She is an Advanced EMT and is certified both by the NREMT and by the state of Utah. She served as an EMT on Cedarville Township’s Volunteer Fire Department and worked as an EMT in the ER of the University of Utah, a level 1 trauma center. Other accomplishments include her status as a Stop the Bleed instructor and previous member on the Dayton Metropolitan Medical Response System’s Rescue Task Force. She also is a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force.

Timothy Norman, PhD, PE

Dr. Norman serves as a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. He was one of the designers and originators of the biomedical engineering program at Cedarville University. Prior to coming to Cedarville, he served as Director of the Musculoskeletal Research Center in the Department of Orthopedics and as Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University. Working in the field of biomedical engineering, Dr. Norman has published over 150 peer reviewed publications in areas including tissue mechanics, implant design, biomaterials, tissue engineering and composite materials.

Jeffrey Williams, DO, FACOS

Jeffrey Williams, DO, FACOS

Dr. Williams is one of the co-founders of ARC Trauma, LLC and has served on the board since its inception.  Dr. Williams is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences and and completed 9 years postgraduate training including: General Surgery Residency at Henry Ford Hospital, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Botsford General Hospital, Hand & Microsurgery Fellowship at the Kleinert-Kutz Institute, and a Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship at Primary Childrens Hospital.

He has vast experience in trauma surgery as well as operating in austere environments.  He has been board certified in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery since 2014 and served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Michigan State University until 2011. Dr. Williams is a Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) and is an active member of multiple societies, including the Special Operations Medical Association.  His executive experience includes Chief of Staff at Animas Surgical Hospital and a member of the Medical Executive Committee.  In addition, he has served as a flight surgeon in the US Air Force.

Caleb Williams

Caleb Williams assisted in the development of the ARC, co-founded ARC Trauma LLC, and has served on its board since its inception.  He graduated from Cedarville University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  While in school Caleb worked as a teacher’s assistant for Physics I & Physics II.

Outside of the classroom, he founded, played, and coached for the Cedarville University DII men’s club volleyball team.  Caleb has most recently worked as a design engineer in the automotive and semiconductor industries.  He is experienced in SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Catia V5, and Fusion 360 CAD programs.
